WestCare Pain Center is located at the WestCare Medical Park of Bryson City. Interventional pain services offered there include diagnostic nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections, facet injections and rhizotomy, intradiscal electrothermal therapy, percuteaneous disc decompression for contained herniated discs, and discograms.
Medical Director, Dr. Ed Lewis, and staff provide medical and psychological evaluation, diagnostic and therapeutic injections, and a variety of medical and surgical therapies, including long term medical management, for suffers of chronic pain. Long term pain management solutions are treated in an Asheville office.
Dr. Lewis received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. There he received honors in Internal Medicine, Family Practice and Anesthesia. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas and his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with added qualifications in pain medicine and the American Board of Pain Medicine. He has been in private practice for 18 years, concentrating full time in pain management for 10 years.
