Occupational Health offers pre-placement screenings to local employers to determine if prospective employees meet the physical requirements for the job. The staff works closely with companies to design a program that specifically meets the unique needs of your business in the most cost-effective manner.

Occupational Health works with WestCare providers such as rehabilitation, laboratory, and radiology services to offer you uncomplicated, straightforward, and coordinated care.

Services include:

  • Health and wellness education
  • Injury prevention
  • 24 hour access to immediate care for workplace injuries
  • Preliminary management of workplace injuries
  • Follow-up assessment of on the job injuries
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) physicals
  • Pre-placement and post-accident drug testing
  • Breath alcohol testing
  • Administering and reading of tuberculosis (TB) skin tests
  • Administering hepatitis B and tetanus vaccinations
  • Blood borne pathogen exposure management and prevention training
  • Explanation of government regulations
  • Work place consultations and redesign for ergonomic efficiency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulation compliance

 

These services are primarily provided on-site at Harris Regional Hospital. Accommodations for some employers may be made available through our Swain County Hospital and WestCare Medical Park of Franklin locations.

Hours of Operation:
  • Regular hours - Monday through Friday - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • After Hours - check in at the Emergency Department (link to Contact Us) for Emergency and Post Accident Drug Screenings
