Pediatric Rehabilitation Services are offered to children from birth through adolescence. Services available include the following:

 

  • Physical Therapy to address developmental gross motor issues, including functional mobility
  • Occupational Therapy - to address developmental fine motor issues, including problems with self care
  • Speech Therapy - to address communication delays and disorders
The pediatric outreach team serves children in Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Swain, and Graham counties, and the Qualla Boundary.

WestCare contracts to serve children in three area school systems, as well as within the Developmental Evaluation Center and the Southwestern Child Development Commission.

WestCare Contracts to serve children in three area school systems, as well as within the Developmental Evaluation Center and the Southwestern Child Development Commission. Infants and toddlers are most often seen in their homes or at day care. Older children are often seen at school. Outpatient rehabilitation services are also available to children at Harris Regional and Swain County Hospitals.

Medicaid and most private pay insurance carriers may be billed for evaluations and treatment. It is always best to check with your personal insurer to be sure of coverage.
