Medical Nutrition TherapyAccording to a National Survey conducted by the American Dietetic Association, two out of three Americans are discouraged from eating healthy because of questions about good nutrition. The goal of WestCare Food and Nutrition Services is to reverse this trend in Western North Carolina. WestCare has two Registered Dietitians on staff. These Dietitians work at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, and Swain County Hospital in Bryson City. The primary purpose of this program is to enhance quality of life through good nutrition. Registered Dietitians offer sound nutrition advice based on scientific principles with respect for individual choices and lifestyles. PaymentIn addition to Medicare and Medicaid, private insurance and private pay are also accepted. A Physician Referral is required for all outpatient consultations. Your physician's office can schedule an outpatient appointment for you if a consultation is needed.
