Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. The staff of the Food and Nutrition Services Department provides nutritious meals that are prepared according to your doctor's orders. Your doctor has chosen a diet appropriate to your medical condition. The Food and Nutrition Services staff provides dietary services for Harris Regional Hospital, Swain County Hospital and Mountain Trace Nursing Center. The Department serves up to 1500 meals per day and has a combined staff of 42 employees. Our Registered dietitians provide nutritional information for hospital patients and Mountain Trace residents, coordinate nutrition services with staff for participants in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs, and manage our Medical Nutrition Therapy Program.
