For over 35 years, Southwestern Community College has responded to the educational needs of the community and region, offering diverse and constantly changing programs to help students prepare for the job market, transfer to senior colleges and universities, or achieve professional and personal goals. Although its status has evolved over the years from industrial education center to technical institute to technical college - and finally to community college, its dedication to the region has never wavered. The institution was founded to help residents of this region maximize their employment potential, and that is at the very core of what the college strives to do today.
