Mountain Area Heath Education Center

The Mountain Area Health Education Center (Mountain AHEC or MAHEC) serves health care professionals, students, and institutions throughout a 16-county region in Western North Carolina. The mission of MAHEC is to provide education, information, training, and services to meet health needs in Western North Carolina through collaborative relationships. We commit our resources and activities toward enhancing the health of Western North Carolina communities through education, direct services, and partnerships with individuals, consumers, agencies, and organizations. The Division of Regional Education Program is dedicated to providing high quality, accessible and cost effective professional education to health and human services professionals in a variety of practice settings. Continuing education programs are designed to respond to constituent needs as they arise, thereby facilitating professionals' adaptation to a changing health care environment. Various formats and methodologies are utilized to deliver innovative, leading edge programs in the most efficient way possible. Workshops, seminars, conferences, courses, curricula, computer assisted instruction and video-conferencing are available to health care professionals throughout western North Carolina.
